I work with organizations that realize people are the magic. They understand that by taking care of their people, they increase their ability to take care of their clients and customers, which ultimately results in profitability and good market share. It’s not a secret. High-yielding teams where everyone shows up daily with their “A game” happens around these three verbs: know, like, and trust.
- Are you perceived by your colleagues and friends as an effective leader?
- Do you want to increase your sphere of influence, your personal productivity as well as the productivity of others?
- Do you want to do more business, close more sales?
Then you simply must become more known, liked and trusted. If there is a genuine desire to learn, I can teach you the people skills to expand your network, build solid, mutually beneficial relationships, and strengthen your existing ones. I have worked with executives who manage billion-dollar budgets and large organizations.
A little about me, I am an Air Force Academy graduate. As a cadet, I jumped out of planes and soloed in a plane. I purchased 36 F-15E fighter jets, a $954 million buy, as a contracting officer in the Air Force. I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to live and meet so many wonderful people in places as far north and east as Maine, as far south as Texas, and as far west as Hawaii and Okinawa, Japan. I understand the importance and power of building mutually beneficial relationships.

It always begins and ends with YOU.
It’s about connecting with YOU first and then learning where you are stuck, lost, confused, or struggling.
Then we begin to tackle the challenges with my 3-pronged approach. This approach is about helping you and/or your team See It. Own It. & Change It into what you would prefer, and what better aligns with your purpose.
My Philosophy
My belief is that in every aspect of our lives we must choose to be responsible for our actions, inactions, successes, and perceived failures. There is no more powerful voice than your own. What you say to yourself about yourself holds the greatest influence.
There is no more powerful voice than your own.
What you say to yourself about yourself holds the greatest influence.
I have seen through experience that what we say to ourselves has the greatest power. It informs our behavior. It also limits our potential.
What we say to ourselves about our organizations also directs our behavior and results. What we believe to be true about ourselves and organization, causes us to act, react and respond in certain ways. When we raise awareness to subtle messages of self-talk and bring them out into the open, we can consciously choose to change them. That’s is when we get the best results.
My message is that “nudge” needed to remind us that in our hands we hold the key to getting what we want. The key to overcoming adversity, struggle, loss of focus, challenge, underachievement, and even failure.
My message starts with you, the individual, in taking 100% personal responsibility for what you have and getting what you want.

He’s called, “The Fantastic Kent Cummins,” and he is a prolific writer, teacher, and entertainer.
Kent’s specialty is “Magic With a Message,” in which he uses the fascination and fun of magic to educate, inspire, and entertain. This is what led him, in 1993, to start The Fantastic Magic Camp, a fully-inclusive program which has helped build confidence in thousands of children in Central Texas.
Kent’s first public magic show was in 1952 in his home town of Del Rio, Texas, at the age of nine. His first professional speaking gig was for Navy club managers in 1970. Retired from the US Army as a Lieutenant Colonel, Kent is a Certified Military Community Executive (CMCE)…and a Certified Juggling Instructor! (There is a photo somewhere of him juggling live hang grenades in Vietnam.)
But Kent believes that his most important title is “Grampa.”
Sometimes, It takes a Magician!

At age 26, I beat cancer. But five years later, doctors told me that a routine scan of my brain showed an aneurysm that was about to rupture.
I had a series of three brain surgeries in 2011 to remove the aneurysm. During those months I spent lying in bed, in pain so intense I wanted to die, I realized I had a choice for how I could move forward. Now I teach others how to make that same choice.
I designed my presentations to help organizations adapt to change and crisis when the stakes are high. I’ve done the research and I’ve lived it: I know that resilience in the face of major stress is possible, and I know how to get it done. Audience members who hear my presentations say my strategies make it easier to manage change, cope with anxiety, bounce back, let go of “the plan,” and get clarity when life, love, or work throw you a curveball.
I love to work with what I call “Pillar Professionals”TM – people whose roles require they remain solid, like a pillar, regardless of chaos or change around them. Typical Pillar ProfessionalsTM are often found in education, healthcare, administration, customer service, sales, and IT. The people in these roles are called on to be highly resilient because of the pressure of their work and their critical position at the foundation of their organization.
When I’m not on stage working with one of my incredible clients as a motivational speaker, I’m serving my community. In fact, my research shows that giving back to others is the singe best way to get perspective on our own struggles. So I volunteer as the President of the Austin chapter of the National Speakers Association, and I’m on several nonprofit boards. I got my Masters Degree in Philanthropy from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. I’ve been honored with the Leadership Austin Ascendant Award, as well as my high school’s Distinguished Alumnae Award. I’ve also been recognized by Austin Monthly magazine as one of “20 in their 30s,” and by GivingCity magazine as one of 2012’s “New Philanthropists.”
